Schools

At Trinley we are wanting to develop a close working relationship with the schools in our area. we wish to act as an educational facility to teach a number of subjects that relate to the national curriculum. Many farms in the UK have already linked with schools and they have become very involved with their adopted farms.

We are extremely conscious of the fact that most of our younger generation are unaware of what is going on in the countryside. It is reported that 1 in 5 school children have not visited the countryside and experienced nature and realised where their food comes from. We feel that it is part of our responsibility as farmers and custodians of our local area, that we offer free opportunities to our local community to engage with a local farm.

We are a fully CEVAS (countryside educational visits accreditation scheme) compliant farm, which enables us to host school visits. We have a wide range of facilities including classroom, kitchen, parking and toilets. Outside our visitor center, we have woodlands, ponds, wild flower meadows, wild bird and flower margins, a wormery and lots of information boards. We also have a visitor’s trailer which fully complies with current legislation and we are insured for farm visitors. We grow a wide range of crops and have rare breed cattle grazing our stewardship grassland. All in all, we can offer schools a wonderful opportunity to have access to a wide range of diverse teaching facilities both accompanied and unaccompanied at no cost as well as providing all the benefits of re-engaging our younger generation with their local countryside.

Adult Groups

The estate plays host to many adult visitors each year and include groups from the WI , U3A, CPRE, RSPB, Farmers, Ramblers and many clubs. We see it as part of our role as farmers to explain how modern farming methods are producing the food we eat. Also we explain how we are making room for wildlife on our estate and how we are providing habitats for the many species we have to look after.

Whether it is a farm walk or a trailer ride the opportunity to see us in our working environment is not to be missed and will guarantee to be an enjoyable experience.
